Gold Jewelry: You can clean your gold jewelry with a polishing cloth or soak your jewelry in warm soapy water and buff it with a soft dry cloth.
Silver Jewelry: To take care of silver jewelry, you need to prevent tarnishing. When it comes to silver, polishing is better than washing. With proper care, your Sterling Silver jewelry will last a lifetime. We recommend using treated polishing cloths on all of your Sterling Silver jewelry. They are non-abrasive and won't damage stones or other materials. Only clean silver jewelry with water if necessary.
Plated Jewelry: Plated jewelry differs from other types of jewelry, so it requires a different set of cleaning rules. This type of jewelry is less expensive and is also more vulnerable to wear. Once the plating has eroded, it's gone for good. This makes the cleaning process for this type of jewelry more complicated. Clean your plated jewelry with a cotton ball or a very soft cloth to remove any dust and dirt it has acquired. Gently rubbing the surface of your gold-plated jewelry using a soft jewelry cloth also helps restore shine. After wearing, wrap your jewelry in a soft cloth after cleaning or keep it in a jewelry box separate from other types of jewelry you have to avoid scratches. Do not spray on perfume or other sprays while wearing your plated jewelry. Remove your jewelry before swimming, bathing, exercising, and avoid rubbing plated bracelets, necklaces, and rings against each other.

Keep silver absolutely dry when storing. Good storage boxes are lined with tarnish-proof fabric and have a separate space for each individual piece. If your climate is humid, place a small packet of desiccant crystals inside your storage area, whether it is a closed box or a flannel roll. Avoid contact with rubber bands or other rubber products. The sulfur in rubber causes tarnishing and corrosion.

Diamonds are remarkably durable, resist scratching (except by other diamonds), and maintain their brilliance over time. But diamonds aren’t indestructible. They can be chipped by a sharp blow, become loose or lost in a weakened setting, or be damaged by contact with other diamonds. Senyda recommends wearing diamond jewelry with care. Store it in padded boxes or soft bags separate from other jewelry. Clean your jewelry by wiping it with a lint-free cloth or with warm water, mild soap, and a soft toothbrush, or by dipping it briefly in a commercial cleaning solution. Have your diamond jewelry periodically cleaned and its setting examined by a professional jeweler to maintain its beauty and integrity over time.

Generally, for nonporous gemstones, like diamonds, rubies, and sapphires, the best cleaning method is to soak them in a solution and gently brush off any dirt or debris. For porous gemstones, like emerald, turquoise, and amber, it's best to brush on the solution, using a minimal amount of water, then wipe clean.

The best way to take care of pearl jewelry is to handle it with care. Like other organic gem materials, pearls are susceptible to dents, scratches. Cultured pearls should be kept free of perfumes, cosmetics, perspiration, and dirt. Keep away from extreme light: Pearls can bleach if exposed to too much harsh light. Never soak pearls: To best take care of pearls, avoid soaking them. Soaking a string of pearls can cause damage to both the pearls and the string. Be gentle when handling or cleaning pearls by making a mixture of warm water and a small shampoo. Dip a small makeup brush into the solution, brush the pearl, and use a damp cloth to wipe clean.
